Beginning

Hey, this is Alexis and I'm starting my blog for my trip to Japan, and I'd thought I'd start blogging now to show my progress so far. I've sent out support letters and got a favorable response. I'm very thankful for the donations so far, it helps a lot. I was really excited at the response because it's another step closer to my trip ! :)

Soon I'm going to work on getting my passport. And in October I'll be doing fundraisers selling Japanese candy that I'm getting from my sensei (Sen-say, a respectful term for teachers,). The candy is called Hi-chew, basically a Japanese version of Starburst, yet so much better. They sell well since they're so good, almost addicting. Our president for Japan Club gave out a free sample and the person bought two packets right away. Since this is our only real fundraiser, I'm going to try to sell as much as I can. We only get fifty cents from each packet, so it's importent to sell a lot.

Once again, thank you for all those who have been supporting me! I'll be posting my progress a lot, so feel free to check up on me!

Here's a picture of me for those who don't know me well. I'm in the middle of my two friends at a field trip to the Seattle Sakura festival, trying on a kimono.
